What is UNS S32760?

UNS S32760 is a super duplex stainless steel known for exceptional corrosion resistance. Engineers commonly use it in challenging environments where standard stainless steels do not provide sufficient protection.

Furthermore, this super duplex steel features a mixed microstructure of austenite and ferrite (around 50/50), which delivers higher strength than ferritic and austenitic grades. The main difference is that UNS S32760 contains higher levels of molybdenum and chromium, giving it superior corrosion resistance.

Like other super duplex steels, UNS S32760 offers lower production costs than comparable ferritic and austenitic grades. In addition, its enhanced tensile and yield strength often allows purchasers to specify smaller thicknesses without compromising quality or performance.

Super duplex structure : Like other super duplex stainless steels, UNS S32760 has a dual-phase microstructure, consisting of austenite and ferrite in roughly equal proportions. This microstructure provides high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and better mechanical properties than regular austenitic stainless steels.

Corrosion resistance : UNS S32760 offers exceptional corrosion resistance, particularly in chloride environments (such as seawater and brine), as well as acidic and oxidative environments. It also resists pitting and crevice corrosion effectively.
